Many of us have all kinds of wildlife in our neighborhoods. In our local area, well over 50% of our community has coyotes and just about 100% with raccoons, opossums and various rodents. Many of these animals can do physical harm to our pets, yards, homes and other structures. Outdoor cages/aviaries are at risk of predation.
There are also medical risks of disease and parasites being brought in, some of which can even do harm to us! This being said, although opossums can be scary looking and frighten us, they actually do not carry diseases that can transfer to our pets, unlike the other visitors.
